Youth Advisory Group

We are looking for 10 people aged 14-17 with justice experience to form a Youth Advisory Group (YAG) who will work on the research with the Project Team. Justice experienced means having contact with the justice system, now or in the past, and could involve:

  • Being stopped and/or arrested by the police

  • Going to a children’s hearing for offences

  • Going to court for offences

  • Getting support for offending behaviour (from a court order, or voluntary support)

  • Other contact with justice systems

We will work with the YAG to help us understand what kinds of things affect children’s experiences of, and participation in, the justice system. We also want to find out what things might help different groups of children to be treated more fairly and equally by the justice system. Together we will design a research project on this topic for other children and young people to explore their views and experiences of justice inequalities.

Being part of the YAG is a big commitment as we will meet in Glasgow once or twice a month over 18 months. The YAG will receive compensation for their time

If you want to know more about the YAG or would like to take part please get in touch.
